The quickest and most effective way to learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is through private lessons with a certified instructor.   Earning your Gracie Combatives® belt through group class attendance only can take over 100 hours and 8-12 months.  Private lessons can cut this time in half or less.

Learn the techniques you need to learn in order to earn your Gracie Combatives® belt through 40-50 hours of one-on-one private lessons.  By having focused instruction with a certified instructor your learning time is accelerated and you can also arrange to schedule your appointments at a time that is more convenient for you.  We recommend 2 one-hour sessions per week for 20 to 25 weeks.

By finding or partnering with one to three other students, a small group led by an instructor can help you master the techniques you need to learn in order to earn your Gracie Combatives® belt.  We recommend 2 one-hour sessions over 25 to 30 weeks.

Whether you want to jump start your jiu-jitsu training or sharpen your techniques to get ready to test, joining a semi-private lesson can be just what you need.  By finding or joining a semi-private group lesson you can earn 1.5 class credits for every hour of training.  14 one-hour-semi-private classes equals 21 group classes and 1 stripe.

A combination of group classes and private lessons can accelerate your learning.  Private lessons can be scheduled with a certified instructor on an hourly basis.  Each hour of private lesson is worth 2 group class hours.

In order to earn recognition from Gracie University for your Gracie Combatives® belt you will be required to submit a video test, pay the $155 testing fee and train a minimum of 8 months.   In the meantime, you will be allowed to attend Master Cycle® and any other class with a regular membership.
